I've called Hercules support and the guy confirmed that the firmware must have been destroyed during the update. But when I updated the drivers to 1.89 which I downloaded from the Hercules web site, the device stopped working. Interestingly, the driver supplied on CD-ROM worked flawlessly. I seem to have the exact same problem with my DJC Rmx. It's a shame because that console has everything I need as a midi controller. Is there a way to "force feed" the firmware to the box, bypassing the updater, in Terminal? There is a "Manual updater" but even the updater can't see the console so.
Hercules rmx 2 drivers how to#
At this point, I think the only option would be to flash the firmware and start over (maybe even on a fresh system).Īnyone knows how to do that? Flashing the firmware of the console? All I could see in the Logs was that there is a USB device connected but with no definition (and parameters). I was trying to dig around in Developper Tools, in case I could figured out something (with USB Probe and al.) without any luck so far.
Hercules rmx 2 drivers install#
I sort of figured that the drivers and Install package (the Mac ones, at least) were kind of sloppy since it can't even figured out what went wrong when it install itself. Specially if their first suggestion is to try it on a different Mac.! I speak French but an email a day won't get me far. Is there anyway I could check/uninstall/reinstall/validate any of my midi set-up from within Leopard?Īny tips is really appreciated.

So I guess I need help about Midi drivers (because I'm a Midi newbie). Another strange thing is that even my old Mac, on which I've never installed the drivers, the console keeps blinking and is not reconized by the softwared (except for the "audi idi Setup" application). I think something might be screwed-up my drivers and possibly my system Midi extensions, since I got that weird message "Check other applications using Timer or Midi (code 0)" when I tried to open Garageband (unsuccessfully). Lights were flashing and nothing showed up on the Audio Midi Setup application nor in the softwares listed above. Once I've installed the drivers, the console could not be detected anymore. So, I've decided to install the drivers that I downloaded from Hercules website since they were more recent then the ones provided on the CD-ROM.

I tried using it with Logic, Traktor and Virtual DJ. I've managed to output the sound through the console (I could control the Monitor (Cue/Mix) and the headset volume) but I could not control the sounds through the console (Fader, Pitch, Source, etc.) I tried to connect it to my Macs (iMac CoreDuo 2GHz 2 GB RAM and iBook G4 1.25GHz 1 GB RAM) without installing the drivers first. I bought a Hercules DJ RMX console (USB Midi Controller).
